U2 spring a leak
Band's twelfth album apparently posted online by Australian record label
20 February 2009 - It’s not officially released until 2 March but U2’s new album, No Line On The Horizon, has allegedly been leaked online by Universal Music Australia, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.They say the label accidentally posted online full CD-quality copies, for sale, two weeks early on getmusic.com.au, run by UMA.
A U2 fan blog has posted a screenshot of the album brought online for $19.80.
Fans have now been downloading the Irish rockers twelfth offering through a variety of peer-to-peer file sharing websites, including BitTorrent and The Pirate Bay.
The latter Swedish website is currently on trial for copyright infringement.
Bono and co’s follow-up to 2004’s, How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb’s was produced by Brian Eno.
Universal Music Australia have not yet responded.
