Noah And The Whale at the Little Noise Sessions

Noah's film plan

Noah And The Whale to release their second album with it’s own movie
16 December 2008 - The folk band, Noah And The Whale, have told 6 Music they plan to put out their new album with a visual accompaniment.

Their second album, the follow up to the acclaimed Peaceful, The World Lays Me Down is already written, and while rehearsing it, bassist Urby dropped by 6 Music.

He said they plan to head into the studio after the New Year and discussed their additional project: “I don’t know if you know this, but we are setting it to a film.

“We are making a visual accompaniment to the record, so that you can go and see a film with the soundtrack fitting perfectly to it.”
"Anything you can do to promote people just sitting down and spending time with the record, is a far more rewarding experience."

They hope that it will encourage people to listen to the album as a whole.

“Once we’ve set it visually,” he explained, “people are gonna come to it and be more likely to follow it from beginning to end, rather than cut in between bits.

“We live in quite a 'sound-bite' age and I think anything you can do to promote people just sitting down and spending time with the record, is a far more rewarding experience.”

Speaking about their hopes for their next offering, Urby continued: “We try with our albums to make them a complete piece of work but I think even more so, especially Charlie, is thinking with this record of having a continuous thread through the middle of it.”
