Editors plot raw sound

Tom says he needs time out to start writing
10 Mar 08 - Editors front man Tom Smith has revealed he's been too busy lately to get started on their next album.

He told 6 Music he's planning on taking some time out to get their next album written:

"We haven't really started writing in any great depth for the record yet. The songs start with me, and I need time on my own really to sort that, and I haven't had that yet."

The band are in the middle of a huge European tour at the moment with current album An End Has A Start and take on Belgium tonight.

Tom told 6 Music they plan to explore a slightly more raw sound with the next record:

"I know there's an element to our band, a kind of power and ferociousness that we have when we play live that we haven't quite captured yet on record. Maybe things have been a little bit too smooth."
