Coldplay update
King Creosote's producer helps out on new record
12 Oct 2007 - It seems Coldplay are at the rehearsal and remix stage with their next album. The last we heard from the band in September they were choosing a tracklisting, but still a few months from finishing the record entirely.
The band have been working in the States with producer Brian Eno, as well as recording in churches around Barcelona.
Now it seems the record is finally nearing completion.
We caught up with King Creosote who told us his producer, Jon Hopkins, has just got back from LA where he was working with Chris Martin.
"It was just him and Chris Martin. There he was with the main man sitting having breakfast together and what have you."KC, aka Kenny Anderson, told us:
King Creosote
"Well, he's actually sitting in as their sort of guest keboard player. So I think what he's been doing is, they've been rehearsing for a new album, and he's sitting in doing keyboard parts, so I think they're trying stuff out.
"I don't know whether he gets to go and play live with the band or not."
He also told us:
"He'd done a mix of a song for them, I think they're really happy with that. I don't know if he's gotten yet to do a collaboration or not, but I think it's going really well for him, I think he's been over in LA for a week.
"And it was just him and Chris Martin. There he was with the main man sitting having breakfast together and what have you."
King Creosote winds up his UK tour on Saturday night (13th) at the Stockton Georgian Theatre.
