Peter Hook's rant
Hooky responds to Sumner and Morris press release
30 July 07 - Peter Hook is one angry man right now. The star has threatened to sue his ex band mates today for continuing on as New Order, despite his claims recently that they’ve all split.Last month 6 Music revealed that the band were splitting following an interview in which Hook cited frontman Bernard Sumner's work with dance act Electronic as the reason for the disbandment. However, Sumner and drummer Stephen Morris fired back a statement insisting Hook's announcement was made without consulting either of them - and that New Order still exists.
The latest retort, written whilst Hook took time out from a DJ set in the USA, appeared on his Myspace page, Hook wrote the following:
"This group (New Order) has split up! You are no more New Order than I am! You may have two thirds, but don't assume you have the rights to do anything 'New Order-ey', because you don't. I've still got a third! But I'm open to negotiation." He concluded the statement with the threat, "See you in court!"
""See you in court!"

Management for both parties admit the whole thing is getting messy, and they are doing their best to defuse the situation so legal proceedings from either side are avoided.
