Basement Jaxx album

Yoko Ono will be on it
19 July 07 - Basement Jaxx have revealed exclusively to 6 Music who they are lining up for the next album. The dance duo have been busy lately penning tracks and along the way have managed to secure the services of John Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono.

Felix told 6 Music that it all came about after they collaborated with the 74 year old singer on her own projects:

“We ended up doing a couple of things, once I started listening to her stuff, I think she was miles ahead, she should be on the new album, I mean we haven’t finished any tracks at the moment, but we are working on new things.”

He also admitted they were keen to get the elusive and eccentric Grace Jones on board but had found it difficult so far:

“We have been trying to work with her for years, but she keeps disappearing, her manager said she was up for it before,” he also added that they had plans to make this a double album, “One album will be sound scapes the other one will be pure tracks.”

According to Basement Jaxx the new record will be out around spring time next year.
