Snow Patrol arrest

Keyboard player almost misses T in the Park
09 July 07 - Snow Patrol had a last minute scare last night as they geared up for their performance for the close of T in the Park.

Around 80,000 revellers packed into the festival at Balado, Perthshire, where the band were due to headline yesterday.

Things turned chaotic when keyboard player Tom Simpson was told he would not make it to the festival after being arrested in England on Saturday.  Simpson, 35, had been detained by police in connection with failing to attend a court hearing in Glasgow.

It is understood he was taken to Uxbridge Police Station on Saturday before being transferred to Strathclyde Police, and subsequently released.

But he was able to join the band in time to open with their hit Final Straw.

Snow Patrol played to a massive audience, with Kasabian, Queens of the Stone Age and Kings of Leon.
