Faithless quit label

15 June 07 - In an exclusive this evening we have heard from Sister Bliss that Faithless have indeed split with label Cheeky, an imprint of SonyBMG.

Sister Bliss said the band split with the label officially on Friday and are relieved to be able to do their own thing.

After 3 albums and a greatest hits, they figured it was time to move on.

"We've been masters of the DIY ethic... there's something about not being under the pressure of a big corporation and not having to fill their coffers" - Sister Bliss

Sister Bliss also said that inspired by Ash's announcement earlier in the week about them not releasing anymore albums, they may do the same - releasing single tracks, moving along with the changing music industry.

Faithless said they want to be masters of their own destiny, to stop churning out hits for radio and get back to the naive experimental early Faithless days.
