Love reveals all about Green Day and her album
02 Jun 07 - Courtney Love has given 6 Music an exclusive on the new Green Day album, as well as speaking about her own solo plans. The former Hole singer spoke to the Queens of Noize, and you can listen to the interview from 4pm on 6 Music today (2 June) or listen back later here.
Courtney played a comeback show last night (1 June), as a special guest to her songwriting partner Linda Perry at Los Angeles' House Of Blues. She appeared mid-way through the set and performed four songs from her new album, Nobody's Daughter, kicking off with the title track.
James Blunt, another Linda Perry song-writing collaborator, was in the audience. Perry, a former member of 4 Non Blondes, has also worked with Pink, Christina Aguilera and Gwen Stefani.
Now Courtney has revealed to 6 Music that Perry will produce the new Green Day album, the follow-up to the multi-million selling American Idiot. She said: "This is my best record. Corgan's on it from the (Smashing) Pumpkins, and Linda Perry - who out of my record got the Green Day record. That's a scoop - I just gave that away with my big mouth."

Perry worked with Courtney on 2004's American Sweetheart. Courtney said of a release date for Nobody's Daughter: "I have to decide on whether I want to take a chance on December and all the big artists. Or whether I want to be a little more conservative, because you're competing for Christmas in December."
She has also been auditioning musicians for a touring band, with names recommended by Alan McGee and Drew McConnell from Babyshambles. But Courtney admitted she was actually keen on poaching the Babyshambles bassist for a while.
"He's committed, he's very loyal, he's a Scorpio," she said. "He's committed to his Pete Doherty thing. I played with him (Drew) the other night, we had really good chemistry and it's totally on him - it's four shows, he needs to decide. My door is open to Drew any day."
Courtney also confirmed her involvement in a Kurt Cobain biopic, after she acquired the film rights to Charles Cross's biography of her late husband.
She said: "I am the producer on a big movie right now. It hasn't really been announced - when it's announced it will be a big announcement - but people kind of know I'm making it."
