Futureheads dropped by label

6 Music reveals the band have left 679
19 Nov 06 - The Futureheads have been dropped by their record label 6 Music can reveal - but they say they're delighted about it.

Talking to Julie Cullen earlier today on the Music Week, frontman Barry Hyde said that Warners-owned label 679 had let them go but he couldn't be happier.

He explained: "I'm over the moon about it to be honest with you, 'cos I feel like we're free now. We weren't happy as a band on that label."

He continued: "It's good to get out of the shackles of being tied down to something. I think it's put us in a very strong position 'cos we're still a band that people like."

He said the band were now concentrating on kicking off their next UK tour in Preston this Saturday (25 Nov).
