Courtney Love - a rock'n'roll mama

Courtney reveals all

Love on album, book & Monkeys
5 June 06 - Courtney Love has been talking exclusively to 6 Music about the book she is writing - as well as giving us the lowdown on her new album and her new friendship with The Arctic Monkeys.

Talking to us at the Arctic Monkey's gig at the Wiltern in Los Angeles on Saturday night, she revealed some of the book WOULD be about her late husband Kurt Cobain.

She explained: "It's not a kiss-and-tell, it's not an autobiography. I certainly don't give up a Tracey Emin-style 'sex list', 'cos if I did, as Stevie Nicks once told me, empires would crumble. Haha, no I'm kidding! There are a few things about Kurt in there, but it's a very, very small part of the book."

As for the album, the former Hole singer has been working in the studio with Billy Corgan and Linda Perry - and she said it was the best thing she had ever done.

She said: "We're just steaming right along with it. Everyone that hears it goes nuts. I don't want to sound arrogant but it's the best record I've ever done. It's awesome."

She added that she'd already played rough versions to the likes of Moby, Michael Stipe and Bono - and they'd all given it a big thumbs up so far.

Courtney has also been hanging out with the Arctic Monkeys as they continue on their tour of the US.

She explained she first met them in New York - and declared them "very sweet".
