Crazy hits number one
On download sales alone
03 April 06 - As predicted Gnarls Barkley's tune Crazy has made chart history. The track which only hits the shops today (3 April) made it to Number One without shifting a single CD copy, but more than 30,000 digital downloads of the track were made.
The hip-hop duo, made up of rapper Cee-Lo and Gorillaz producer Danger Mouse, were over the moon with the news they'd taken over the top spot:
"I feel humble, but of course it's earned and deserved. I feel like it's not necessarily do, but what initially felt like a good song, ultimately the people made it a great song, thank you Gnarls Barkley."
"By the end of the year more people will know Gnarls Barkley then the components of it."The pair pushed US star Ne Yo out of pole position, and also Morissey's come back single, You Have Killed Me , only made it into third.

Danger Mouse says he reckons the pair of them have their sights set on big things this year:
"The idea of the two of us together was not turning heads, but the Gnarls Barkley itself is actually going to be bigger than either one of us. By the end of the year more people will know Gnarls Barkley then the components of it which is a way of giving the art more importance that the artist."
They are playing this summer Wireless festival though, and you'll be able to watch them supporting Massive Attack in London and Leeds on 23 and 24 June.
Tickets are on sale at www.02wireless festival.co.uk.
