Reading festival

Reading/ Leeds headliners

Exclusive details leaked to 6 Music
22 March 06 - It's been a closely guarded secret so far, but 6 Music can exclusively reveal some of the top headline acts for this years Reading and Leeds festival.

According to Feeder, who tell us they're fourth on the bill, Kaiser Chiefs, Franz Ferdinand and Audio Slave will be leading the top three spots.

We caught up with the band earlier (22 March) ahead of their second rescheduled gig at the Hammersmith Apollo, and Taka and Mark let the cat out of the bag. The official line-up will be revealed on 3 April.

"He's nervous because he cant control it, if it goes it goes."
Taka and Mark on Grant's voice
The boys also told 6 Music they're set to play T In The Park, and talked about how singer Grant Nicholas has been getting on since losing his voice because of blood on his vocal chords:

"Well definitely he is nervous because he can't control it, if it goes it goes, but we did a really good show and he's in good spirits. He sang really well last night no matter how apprehensive he was about going on stage."

hmmm i'm not as impressed as last year (dave grohl on drums, yummy) but i'm hoping the radio 1 and carling tents will be hosting some awesome new bands who we all know about thanks to the wonder that is bbc 6 music!

The same old bands again? Good move. How excrutiatingly boring.

Oh my! Feeder are amazing and I love them and really hope they are playing Reading! Audioslave, by the way, are brilliant, and are basically what RATM should have been, as RATM were crap with that retard Zach bloke. Kaisers and Franz also great! But what about Muse?! Also, Jo, are you the Jo Youle who was at Virgin not so long ago?

G. from Wales
it says that those three bands will be playing above them (i.e the same day). It doesnt mean the three headliners for the weekend (friday, saturday AND sunday) are going to be kaisers, franz and audioslave. In other words the lineup on Friday will be Feeder then Kaisers, then Franz, then audioslave headlining. Don't get your nickers in a twist.

Alwin from London
If these are the headliners then i am selling my ticket and getting a V festival ticket. Audioslave headlining! If that's true then I might cry. Can't Franz and the Kaisers play the same day cos they are the same kind of band. This is terrible. Terrible. Audioslave haven't even got any songs that could incite a mini singalong. Bring back RATM! This is my nightmare coming true.
