No Blur without Graham

Damon Albarn is waiting for his former bandmate
16 May 05 - There won't be another Blur record without Graham Coxon, according to Damon Albarn.

Damon's having a busy time at the moment; with a Gorillaz album to promote, charity commitments to honour and further projects stemming from his love of African music

But he's repeated his calls for a reconciliation, and says there are no plans for another Blur album at the moment. He told Billboard.com:

"It's a shame we didn't stick to it, hopefully we'll play together soon"
Damon Albarn
"I'm waiting for Graham to talk to me again, I'd love to see if we could make another record ... it's a shame we didn't stick to it, hopefully we'll play together soon."

Graham, however, has said in the past he isn't interested in returning to Blur, and is currently working on another solo album to follow the highly successful Happiness In Magazines.

I get the impression that Damon isn't very intersted in doing anothe Blur aalbum either, what with all the Gorillaz/African music/Charity going on. Perhaps saying that he is waiting for Graham is just an excuse?...

i dont think he should go back he is established himself now as a solo artist and he should continue to be so

It would be great if Graham could rejoin, but if he is happier making solo albums, then it is better that way. Who needs who most I wonder? Damon's announcement does seem to put Damon and Blur in a vulnerable position. Or has he covered himself by the various activities he has on? Is this really a breaking-up announcement?

Blur doesn't really need him back, they've shown they can be just as successful as a three-piece, but it will be nice to have Graham back in the band - to be honest, I think he needs the band in order to survive in the music biz. Come on Damon, I would love to hear another Blur album very soon, just forget it all and do it anyway, please!

Blurs most recent album was probably their best in my opinion - coxon should get on board before he mises the boat. Experementation is the way forwards

Holly, Home of Ze Futureheads
Well would ya look at that, They want the boyo back. I feel t'would be awesome for there to be another Blur album brought into the world and yet, Graham seems to be doing so well solo....

Ian, Portsmouth
To be honest, Blur arn't the same without him, but he has had such success on his own, it would make a great record, however i think he would be mad to go back.

DAVID.... ABERDEEN
damon is quite right.they are not the same sans coxon and the one track he contributed to on the last album was the finest cut by far. they should have issued it and the three coxon inclusive b-sides as a final E.P. and called it quits. think tank wasn't bad , but it wasn't blur.....and coxon was always my favourite anyway
