Step 1 - Identity and security
The first step is to choose a member name that will serve as your log-in. It will also appear on screen, so choose something you are happy for others to see.

Then choose a password, a secret question and answer and give your date of birth.

Step 2 - Rights and responsibilities
Next you must read and agree to the terms and conditions of the BBC message boards.

Step 3 - More about you
Then you will need to supply us with your email address.

Make sure it is accurate and up-to-date as you must reply to an email from us in order to complete the registration process.

Step 4 - Reply to our email
After a few minutes you will receive an email with 'BBC Membership' in the subject line.

The message will include a link that you need to click on or cut and paste into your web browser to activate your membership. If you don't do this then you won't be able to post messages. The link will take you to a page confirming that registration has been successful.
