No room on the list for Snoop Dog and Dre? I can’t believe it. Also, who voted for dancing in the street by Jagger and Bowie? That video still gives me nightmares.

Steve Misura, london
no westlife and mariah carey!this is a mistake

Martin McColl Bridge of Weir
I'm astounded that Dancing in the Street has made it onto your list! Bowie himself has said that it's the worst thing he's ever done.Gone to check if the list is a hoax :)

Thom Gibbs, Bromley
Come Back by UB40 and Patto Banton is an all time classic

Jenni, Juvignac, France
And where's Louis Armstrong/Ella Fitzgerald's "Summertime" or "It ain't necessarily so"?

louie birkenhead
what happened to Arthur Mullard and Hilda bakers version of, your the one that i want?

David, London,
I think it's a pretty diverse list. KD and Roy's version of Crying I think is better than his original and they're both cracking singers. Good to see Annie Lennox on there alongside Aretha and Barcelona by Freddie Mercury & Montserrat Caballé has long been underrated I think.

Vince - Ghent, Belgium
What about Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerals's 'Dancing Cheek to Cheek'??

Patti Frankfurt
Kylie Minogue and Robbie Williams "Kids" should be high on the list.

James Woodford, Aylesbury
A little number by Robbie Williams and Maxi Jazz, My Culture, on the 1 Giant Leap album....just as good as Tear Drop by Massive Attack. Brilliant.

Jason Griffiths, Liverpool
Lydia Lunch and Rowland S. Howard - Some Velvet Morning.

Steve, Welwyn
There is some good music here. My personal favourite is Emmylou Harris and Mark Knopler (If this is Goodbye).

Tracey, Montreal
"You Don't Bring Me Flowers" by barbra Streisand and, is it, Neil Diamond?

Charlie C , London
Where is "I've got you under my skin" by Frank Sinatra and Bono ??....a brilliant re-working of a classic tune !

Lindsay Hutton, Grangemouth
What? No Joey Ramone and General Johnson?

Tom S, Thurnscoe
Im very glad to see PJ Harvey and Thom Yorke, what a beautiful song that is.They are one of my favourite groups but does any work with massive attack actually count as a duet seeing though they have guest vocalists on every album and Mezzanine contains quite a few with Elizabeth Fraser.

Callum, Bendigo
Where's 'Endless Love' by Lionel Richie & Diana Ross?

Gerald - Port Louis, Mauritius
Surely "dream a little dream of me" by Louis Armstrong & Ella Fitzgerald deserves to be on this list.

Frank; B'klyn, NY
Hey! I may not now all that much about the Cheiftains but I am aware of thier significance. A duet with O'connor which many here say they never heard well thats the way it always is. Some of the best music, film etc is always overlooked by most of the masses. Bowie I like but he is not all that original and to be here 3 times with such half ass songs!? If thats the case then Prince and Sheila E. with "Glamorous Life". Harvey/Yorke, Gainsbourg/Birkin and Hazelwood/Sinatra all good. But how about something with Ella and Louis? Yes I know it a UK poll... anyway fun time with this kind of lists. Cheers!

Mark, Roskilde, Denmark
Can't believe there is no Massive Attack/Tracey Thorn for Protection

Terri Hull Lorton, Virginia
What about "You Don't Bring Me Flowers" by Neil Diamond & Barbara Streisand?!

Dave, London
Jupitas a snob? Hardly. The man has taste. I could feel his pain throughout: Mercury and Caballe? Followed by the Dame and Jagger? I thought I was listening to the Worst-Ever list. Where was Lydon & Leftfield? Or Lydon and Afrika Bambaataa aka Time Zone.Sadly, this is what happens when people with very little passion for music vote in these polls. And yes, there is a huge difference between liking a song and actually having the critical sense to distinguish between what is good and of cultural value and what's crap.By all means, call me a snob but that's just your shorthand for those who know what they're talking about.

Soul Man Brighton
One that got away....Stop, Look and Listen by Marvin Gaye & Diana Ross..Motown classic

Pedant, Chelmsford
Is it just me or are some of these not even duets? E.g. KLF & Tammy. That's just Tammy Wynette singing for KLF, it's not a duet with anybody. And there are more than two singers on the Band Aid single too.

moshimoshi, vavuniya
Leonard Cohen & Jennifer Warne: Joan of Arc?

Andrew, Miyazaki, Japan
What happened to the Easybeats song 'Good Times' performed by INXS and Jimmy Barnes? That's one Aussie classic that blows most of these other duets out of the water.

John @Edinburgh
What the chuff is that at No'1 !!!!!? Never even heard of it!

Brooke/Santa Monica, CA
Amazing how david Bowie's on here with three tunes (four with Band Aid?)...he's brilliant!

Kenneth, Los Angeles
we are the world? great list nonetheless.

charlie wood green
a few goodies, mostly a load of fan worship bollocks eg. little drummer boy

Mark, Edinburgh
Dusty and Pet Shop Boys - genius. Kirsty and Pogues - unadulterated genius.

Tom, Portsmouth
Where is Def Leppard ?! They deserve a spot in this list SO MUCH!

Lars , Norway
unfinished sympathy , with Massive attack and Sara Nelson is the best , in the 90`s.

Phil, Warwickshire UK
The topper is a surprise, given that it is nowhere near as well known as any of the other tracks in the top ten. I'm slightly surprised that U2's collaboration with Johnny Cash, "The Wanderer" is not in there. It's also somewhat surprising to see 6 Music listeners voting for Take That and a song from 'Grease'. Were they being ironic?Overall though, I can't help thinking there must be better collaborations out there on 'lost' album tracks than some of the hits featured here.

Liz, London
"Under Pressure" is one of the most disgustingly horrible songs ever recorded. And I say that as a major Bowie fan.

Matt, Bromsgrove
David Sylvian and Ryuichi Sakamoto – Forbidden Colours. Like nothing i’d ever heard before, east met west and we all fell in love with it.

Delia, London
I think that Desert Rose- Sting and Cheb Mami should've featured, but then its all just personal opinion!

Dan, Brookfield
I don't mean to be pedantic but Sisters Are Doin’ It For Themselves is by Aretha Franklin & Eurythmics, not just Annie Lennox.

Del, Arbroath
Most of these are pretty good.My own favourites on the list are:16 Justified and Ancient – The KLF & Tammy Wynette.18 Teardrop - Massive Attack & Liz Fraser.28 Girl from the North Country – Bob Dylan & Johnny Cash.Pure class.

Rob, Farnborough
Stan? Isn't that a sample of Dido rather than a duet?

Dave, Essex
I'd have included "Islands in the Stream" by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. Lovin it like that.

Colin, London
Strange Irish list to the top of the charts there. I think that the whole list is better read as a '40 best but not in order' list as the exact order is always going to be more subjectively viewed than the majority of choices that appear. I bet nobody can think of more than one or two tracks that ought to be in there.Although the one I would put in there is another Sinéad O'Connor (this time with Damien Dempsey).

Thomas, Dublin
Kind of forgot a major one here, Scream by Michael & Janet Jackson!

Claire, Edinburgh
What about when Mike and Alma Baldwin did "Something Stupid"? Surely that's more memorable than Frank and Nancy's version...

Lorraine, Cheltenham
What about Summer Wine with Nancy and Lee?

Jim, Guernsey
I simply cannot believe that the beautiful 'Yes' by Mcalmont and Butler didn't make the top 40. Surely one of the greatest records of the 90s, and a stroke of genius to pair david Mcalmont's soaring falsetto with Bernard Butler's arrangement of big guitars and epic strings. And the dreadful 'Where the wild roses grow', a shocking dirge by helium voiced Kylie Minogue makes number 4?? It's just wrong.

Birmingham
I think that Jay Z and Linkin Park should have made this list with thier numb/encore mash up. That was cutting edge and hot!

Jenifer Dallas, Tx
where's "Scream" by Michael Jackson and Janet

Scotty, Stirling
There are some great tunes here, but I am so disappointed, I did my bit & voted. A nation must be asleep because there are so many more great collaborations than some of the chaff that made up the numbers here!

Jez, Beckenham
How many relatives has Sinéad O’Connor got ???

Niall, Ayr
Shocked?? Why on earth should anyone be shocked? Why should a beautiful song such as The Foggy Dew not win this siort of poll just because it is little known by some ill informed, supposed musical experts.Well done Sinead & The Chieftains

Brighton
Thought the Pogues should have been number one with the fab Kirsty. Agreed with Phil that up to number 20ish was toss and then got way better for the top ten.

Beth, Bristol
Nick Cave got in twice, what good taste the voters of 6Music have!

Peter ,Newcastle Upon Tyne
It's a bit unfair to say those who voted for The Chieftains spoilt your vote. I was only made aware of the poll very late and thought long and hard about the choices before going for The Chieftains which is a truly beautiful version of a great old song

Billy from Larkhall
a fitting winner ..

Simon in Burnley
Take That and Lulu???Dear god!!!

Carla, Leicester
Phill Jupitus _is_ indeed a snob - but a hilarious one and on occasion it is hard not to agree with his comments!
