7-10am: 5 live Breakfast
Live from the A&P Group shipyard. Nicky Campbell checks out a Bangladeshi navy ship being refitted at the docks, and is joined by local business leaders to talk about how the spending cuts will affect the North East.
12-2pm: Gabby Logan
Live from the Sir Bobby Robson Cancer Trials Research Centre. She's joined by Alan Shearer and Sir Bobby's family.
2-4pm: Richard Bacon (Centre for Life)
Guests include actress Dani Harmer, who plays the popular children's TV character Tracy Beaker. Plus, Richard is joined by actor and comedian Les Dennis and there's live music from Maximo Park.
6-7pm: Meet the Commentators (Centre for Life)
Hosted by BBC Radio Newcastle's Simon Pryde this is a chance to hear tales from behind the microphone with Radio Newcastle's Mick Lowes and 5 live's Alistair Bruce Ball and Ian Dennis.
8-9.30pm: Shearer Night (Centre for Life)
5 live sport brings you an evening with Alan Shearer. The former Newcastle United and England striker takes questions from the audience.
He'll also reflect on his playing career including his championship winning season at Blackburn, his highs and lows with England and of course his ten years at Newcastle United.
10.30-1am: Tony Livesey
Live late night entertainment from South Shields. Former Newcastle and England defender Steve Howey talks football with Sunderland captain Michael Gray, and other guests include former Newcastle midfielder John Anderson and North East comedian, Tony Jameson.
There's also music from local bands The Futureheads, Little Comets and Lanterns on the Lake.
2-4pm: Kermode and Mayo's Film Review (Centre for Life)
Our cult weekly film review features live guests, a top ten run-down of the films of the week and a chance for members of the audience to quiz Mark and Simon.
7-10pm: Kicking off with Colin Murray (Centre for Life)
5 live sport's Friday night preview show focuses on North East football. Colin is joined by regulars Pat Nevin and Perry Groves plus special guests to preview the weekend's football with a lively local audience.
6-9am: Weekend Breakfast
Phil Williams is live from the Gateshead Harriers athletics club, where he'll be getting some last minute tips for the Great North Run. He'll speak to some of the run organisers, and look ahead to London 2012 with some athletics hopefuls.
11-12pm: Fighting Talk (Sage Theatre)
Colin Murray hosts his regular Saturday morning show but this time in front of its biggest ever live audience. Guests earn points for top punditry and are crowned the winner if they can defend the indefensible!
10pm-1am: Stephen Nolan
Stephen is in Newcastle city centre previewing the Great North Run with organisers and experts. Hhear powerful and emotional stories from those who are running, telling us why they're taking part in this year's race.
6-9am: Weekend Breakfast
Rachel Burden co-presents the show live from the 30th Great North Run, as 5 live's Phil Williams prepares himself at the starting line.
9am-12pm: Great North Run live on 5 live
Stephen Nolan presents coverage of The Great North Run with all the stories from the starting line plus commentary of the elite races.
