Through multimedia workshops, we enable people of all ages to create Olympics and 2012 focused content for a variety of BBC platforms. No prior knowledge of digital technology is required to take part in our projects, with a focus on fun. Our workshops provide the opportunities to learn new multimedia skills.

Animation

    Make a short animated film from scratch using stop motion techniques and/or Flash animation. Create storyboards, design characters and learn how to use animation equipment and software to set your ideas and artwork in motion. See examples

    Make short films and programmes and develop key production skills such as interviewing, filming using DV cameras, scripting, presenting and editing. We have a green screen TV studio which allows for the most creative ideas to be realised.

    Design a magazine or comic book; Illustrate a book jacket or create a logo for a new brand. You'll learn how to combine traditional art techniques with digital software including Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.

    Get to grips with the principles and techniques involved in making speech radio, including how to research and record interviews and how to plan, script and edit a short podcast or radio drama with easy to use software.

    Take a creative leap into music with the help of technology. Create your own song or score music for film. Whether you are a complete beginner or even a virtuoso, learn the tricks of the trade that will get you making and recording your own music.
