im quite shocked at the obviously racist veiws displayed here how many times can the police get it wrong how many innocent people must die, things like this are likely to cause more bombings not prevent them, these people who the police are shooting are just like you imagine they were members of YOUR family. its just not right no matter what excuse you use.

This is about accountability. The Police have to account for their actions. This is part of living in a free, democratic country and is a fundimental part of our culture. This country is british, i know alot of people who are fed up of the way the rights of other nations are put before ours. if i went to any other country id expect to have to follow their rules/ traditions. yet we are expected to change what makes us british to compensate for people who have no respect for us. the police have to do what they think is right for our protection no matter what, unless u would rather have bombs going off

In the United States its called probable cause. No leagal serches is usually done w/ out probable cause or search warrant. Of course in the state that this world seems to be in. Being overly causious isnt always so bad until I guess it happens to you.

In London it's a different story, but up north it's definately harder to intergrate, when the culture is going to the pub, musilim's don't drink, there's language barriers, and being called Paki down every road doesn't help. I think it's way more harder for asians to intergrate than you may think. eg completely different culture, morals, religion, values.

And as for the police, they could've just picked a random house to make the public have faith that they are doing something? There was not evidence that the brothers were terrorist. Just like how they did with the Brazillian .... they see a non- english person, they want to shoot.

Trust me the Police would not raid a house for no reason. SO13 has very good sources and intel. They would have had eyes on the house for weeks. There is something not right there. People moaning about the heavy handed action taken by the Police should remember 7/7 what would you have said if these brothers blew up something in London and killed your family members. You guys try going into a situation where you've been told they have chemical bombs and weapons etc. and try and keep your finger off the trigger. If i was put in that situation I know i would have shot the guy naked or not naked, black, white or asian. OK the guys are supposedly innocent (think there's more to it) but better safe than sorry. If the cops didn't do anything about it and these guys did set off a chemical bomb in the heart of London, millions would be dead and the police would have hell to pay!!

Better safe than sorry. The police don't just march in on ANYONE (usually) - there's obviously a reason why a house was raided, even if the public aren't privvy to the intelligence behind the raid.

Police keep calling the information they recieve inteligence. I see nothing inteligent about the shooting of an innocent man last summer or the attack on the two brothers last week. Maybe they should reconsider the word inteligence for something else.

it does not take rocket science to see that the metropolitan police have been very heavy handed recently. It is not fair that the muslim community are constantly targeted for terrorism. The raid i think was hilarious. What sort of civilised people march through someones home at 4 am with 250 friends and shoot an inocent man in his chest. It is clear that the police felt the need to investigate A POSSIBLE terrorist attack. However i do not like the way that this source of information that provided the police with their belifs has not been mentioned at all in the media neither has it been mentioned by Mr.Blaire. It is obvious that the police here have made a big mistake and whether or not a shabby apologie will fix the damage to the muslim community is yet to be seen.

I think the police were right to raid a property they thought was holding bomb making material, but to shoot the guy, wearing boxer shorts ? As for the ignorant remark above they dont grow their beards to look like their from Pakistan or wherever! Its because as a Muslim they arent allowed to cut it! I do think that we will see more raids on random houses to info the Police recieve but there is the saying 'no smoke without fire' , what if the Police had ignored this and it turned out to be a holding place for chemicals? they were right to raid the house but they were not right to go into the house and no warn who they were and they were no need to shoot him i dont think it was an accident at all they wanted to set an example to other people to keep them in line but i think it will back fire in the future

when they shoot first and ask questions later, its wrong, these cops are trained to recognise a posible situation and deal with it, to up hold the law and protect a state and all who live in it, not to act on spurious information from a grass and go in like an army and alienate people.
