1XTRA NEWS: THE REAL TALK OF THE STREETS
Is SATC just for girls?
Sex in the City actresses
Hundreds of Sex and the City fans turned out for the premiere of the film but most of them were ladies. But where were the men?
The relationship sagas of Carrie and the girls have become a mantra for women worldwide but for some men it's a guilty pleasure.

Rapper Nelly was spotted on the red carpet. He said it was the place to be for guys: "Where else can you see 30,000 females in one place."

But shoes, handbags and outfits aside, men can get tips and an insight to the way women think. Will your girlfriend be dragging you?
Is the Sex and the City just for girls? Guys, has your girlfriend got into SATC? Will you go and see the film?

T L from Burton
Went to see it last night, a great film all round, ok it will appeal mostly to women but who cares? Hilarious in places, sad in others, if it gives me a few pointers on how to understand women better then im all for it!

Gareth
If you are male and enjoy this film, the chances are that you

a: like to wear tight white tee-shirts.

b: enjoy musicals:

c: prefer the company of cats and women to men.

d: get excited when the diet coke ad comes on the tv.

Personally I would rather french kiss an ape than watch this rubbish!

If I really wanted to know about the lives of four dodgy-looking middle-aged women, then I would go to the pub, not watch SATC.

I’ve always loved SATC it’s a great look into the lives of these four fabulous friends. I bought the box set and watched in within a week so I’m refreshed with what went on and ready for when the film comes out. We know it’s not really but it’s the possibility that it could be that we all fall in love with. Every gal loves shoes and the independent life that Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda represent.

Hollie
I love sex in the city. Its not real so i dont know why people are getting so uptight about it. It's fun and i think alot of people can relate to it.

I think it is just a womens thing. A man can watch the show, enjoy it and thats it. But the show is meant to relate to womens insecurities. Lets face it, 99% of the problems that the women have are fickle and only exist because the women are superficial and drama queens.

Mildred
IMO SATC is utter twaddle. And I'm sure there are men and women out there who absolutely luv it to bits. Personally I'd rather watch paint dry.

derek
Well I doubt that it is just for girls, but I personally cannot stand it. It appears to be about selfish, materialistic, wastes-of -space, getting into failed relationships with unrealistic men. I wish it wasn't on everyday and now apparently on more than one channel. My missus can't stand it either. I also sincerely doubt that it is in anyway a means for any man to "understand" women better. I have found that just talking to my girlfriend is the easiest way to discuss problems, rather than rely on a fictional programme about materialistic women.
