These concerts are to make the worlds leaders think about the extreme poverty some people face, not the raise the money, they already did that at christmas and 20 years ago. I think that it is good that all of these artists are signing up, because they aren't getting paid for it.
goodcasual
julian marley and the marley brothers to bring some marley magic.

forget the concert itself & how bout these artists playing their lead by example & put their money where their mouth is? I mean if 50 & jay z both pawned them chains they are wearing we could be on the way to puttin an end to poverty rather then bringin light to an problem that we all know exists. why not do something thing that can really stop the problem?

It would have been brilliant to showcase African artists, or better yet have a concert in a city like Nairobi or Jo'berg, because after all, arent the majority of developing nations in Africa?
The pool of talented African artists is endless -like urban groups such as Bamboo, Kalamashaka, Necessary Noise, Mashifta, Nanoma (kenya); and Xplastaz, Raha-P, Wakilisha (tanzania), just to name a few.
These exemplify the voice of the youth who are the future of developing nations. For us young people, music unifies us, gives us hope for the future, and acts as a coping mechanism for the harsh realities of a poverty stricken existence.

I think the world is selfish also. All that money and none of it shared!! And musicians could really dish out their cash and help people! It's up to us to save the world and the people in it!! I would love artists such as Dizzee Rascal, Kano, Usher, Twister, Akon, Kelly le Roc and Ludacris just to name a few... So come on artist get your mic out and preform and try to Make Poverty History.

I would love to see the Fugees at the American concert. They had so much positivity to share in their music. Complete contrast to the materialistic rubbish espoused by people like 50 Cent, P Diddy and the rest of them.

i agree that the wristbands wont change the world completely but its a start and it raises awareness for stuff that matters dont it ? and the artists may be doin it so they can sleep at night but the bigger the artists are the more people will be interested and therfore be exposed to the cause.

Philadelphia is one of the largest cities in the US (larger than Washington, DC) with a deep routed history in the slave trade, abolishion, and human rights, that may be a reason why it was chosen over New York and Washington.

i think the main leaders need to be there so they can see how everyone across the globe feels we should set up a political party just for africa . i dont no how millionaires can sleep
THE WORLD IS SELFISH

Would love to see the genius that is Mr Stevie Wonder involved in the US concert....

Immortal Technique cos he feeds you the bitter truth about what's really going on in the world with no sugar. Most of these other cats just want to wear a cute wristband and sing a song so they can tell their kids they did something. Very few people (ordinary folk included) are willing to take a real stand against poverty, or anything else for that matter. Real change requires real sacrifice. Until we're all willing to do so, wristbands and songs won't make no piece of difference.

Nitin Sawhney, an amazing world traveller who has seen poverty in action. His music is inspired by many who need our help and support, so would love to see him on stage with the rest.
