Why do so many teenagers constantly feel they have to watch their backs?
Whether it's theft, fights or harassment teenagers are more at risk from crime on the streets than any other age group.

Are they out for trouble or just trying to stay safe?

1Xtra asks why are so many teens tooled up and afraid to walk the streets alone. What can teenagers do to protect themselves?
What are teenagers doing to protect themselves? What can be done to make them feel safer? And who can they turn to for help? If you roll with a group of friends are you safer than walking alone?

I grew up like every other english kid in fear of being jacked or worst peoplle hearing bout it, so i tooled up and neva been troubled in my early adult year. Now i got some babys i moved to new zealand so my kids don't have to grow with the inner-city mentallity
