1XTRA NEWS: THE REAL TALK OF THE STREETS
Street Diary
knives
There's been a lot of stories about youth crime especially when it comes to knives and gangs. But what's life really like for the teenagers behind the headlines?
A 15-year-old holds her boyfriend as he's stabbed to death by a gang of teenagers - he dies in her arms.

His best friend's 17, he used to have dreams that one of them would die, now he's hoping to make it to 18 without being killed.

This may sound like a movie but it's not -it's real life..

From the friends and girlfriend of murdered teenager Kodjo Yenga to Swift who joined a gang for his own protection when he was 13, 1Xtra goes beyond the headlines to hear the stories of young people who have been affected by crime
Are you worried about crime where you live? How safe do you feel on the streets? Why do you think some teenagers see getting involved in crime as the only option for them?
