Why are so many people on our streets carrying knives?
Is it for self defence or a way to raise status? Whatever the reason, the results can be fatal.

Big Brovaz speak out about knife attacks and Dizzee Rascal tells us about his ordeal when he was stabbed in Ayia Napa last year.

We ask young people if they carry blades, and if they're worried they might find themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Do you carry a blade or not? How do you look after yourself on the streets? Do you know anybody who's been caught up in knife crime?

i got caught with a blade stashed in my bag .i dont now why i was carrying it ..i guess i thought it made me feel more grown up when i had it as it made me feel like i had more power ..but when i got caught it made me realize that i was stupid for carryin one .i got a repremand but nothing else.i got off easy in the end ,but i know now not to carry a knife again.

Knives should only be used for one thing, cooking. I used to carry a knife some 15 years ago for fear of being stabbed and now all I can think is what if, what if I had of stabbed someone, where would I be today?
