Monie Love was the first British female rapper to make it big in America. Born in Battersea, South London, she burst onto the hip hop scene in the late 1980’s. Have you got love for Monie? Helping establish the roots of UK hip hop, Monie Love moved to New York, where she went on to work with legends of the game including Queen Latifah, De La Soul, and the Jungle Brothers.
