Why must a guy's wardrode consist of one style of clothing?
Monday to Friday, I work in an office, so it's suit and ties all the way, which I feel comfortable in and think looks good and professional...but it's not something that I'd be willing to wear when I go out to the bar, or out shopping or anything with my friends and everything. Jeans and T-shirt, brands like Henley and Firetrap for doing social things.
But saying that, I tend to wear tracksuit bottoms, trainers and basketball tops on the weekends too, just for bumming around, Not to fit in with any kind of category, but simply cause it feels good.
I can't see the suits thing catching on, and if it does, I can't imagine many people shelling otu for a Jeff Banks or anything of quality.

Hip Hop clothes are so 80....lets take this thang to another level....its time to move with the future..!

i reckon that everyone should be allowed to wear their own thing and not be labelled by others. I know its not going to happen, but it would be nice if it did.

Cheap is nasty, weather it be fake bling or a cheap suit. Follow your own style and dress to your own song, otherwise you just look like a Try Hard. Ain't nuthin wrong than bringing back the sunday best- It is time for less attitude and more self pride

i don't think being siuted and booted is really gonea hit it normal people.Bling will never go out.i think people can't afford it.Rappers and stuff look sexy in suits.but normal people like us lot, don't look good in siuts.baggy jeans, hoodies and nike shoxs still do it for me.
Dean
Baggies and Hoddies ain't eva leavin. Suits is jus another phase for the rappers, besides, lets keep it a u.k ting, stop bein followers, lets be leaders!!!

it's good to see certains peeps in hip-hop are getting their fashion acts together, i mean that whole throw-back thing, what's that all about?
i think artists such as kanye west have made it more acceptable for rappers to be a bit more style conscious. but there's still a big lack of originality, i mean u see jay z wearing a button-up shirt in his video, next thing u know u got cassidy to mario wearing one... i mean it seems in hip-hop that it takes an artist like jay z to wear something new to make it accecptable attire

Who is Bentley Farnsworth or Usher to tell the wold outside of the U.S. how to dress? I mean, have you been to the USA? The man in the street out there has very little fashion sense, and the women leave a lot to be desired!
They only learn about style by coming to Europe and seeing the fine threads which are created here! Come on, anyone in Britain over the age of 21 who has any sense would not idolise an American's dress sense, forget the hype you see in the music video's, that is not how they are living, I was in New York 2 months back and you could spot the Brits in Manhattan before they spoke for the fact we generally present ourself much better.
The majority of these so called fashion icons are dressed by stylists and would not have the heart to dress themselves as we the average people in Britain do!
All this suit hype will probably bring back a resurgence of Mr Byrites!
Ps. Love the show!

personally for my sake and my mates, I hope the suit doesnt replace the tracksuit, because I already rock tha smart, expensive image and I am not some "rudebwoi!", they should keep their, Tn's and Akademics, and let others still keep their cred so they can still 'rock' the paul smith and Christian Dior!!!
So unless you have the classy lifestyle to live up to the good designer suits, BACK OFF!!!
O to the Zee
The whole bling thing is really something for the yute dem to spend their pocket money on!!!!! Cos let's face it, anyone you see on the bus AINT got a £50k stud in their ear, or a £50k watch on their wrist. It's jus fake hype that makes them feel like a big man.
Really and truely, I anit inna dat at all. I aint sayin dat it should be suits all da way (there's a time and place for everything) but i'm just sayin dat ppl need to realise that cos they got their "bling" on their neck/ wrist that ppl aint gonna think dat they're minted........at the end of the day they prob saw you buyin it not frm places in Knightsbridge, but frm dem swag shops up and down Oxford St!

It nice 2 to dress street with some gebtleman aspects to it. Suits are nice as well but we have to know how to step up to the ocassion. Yea I like my bling but moderately and not look like some Gansta. Lokin a bit street doesnt mean you have not job or have somethin goin 4 u, that not true coz on Mon-Fri, I look like a bank manager goin to work and on weekends I look as street as u can get and u cud be fooled by my appearance on weekend. I must admit some cats out there look like hood-rats and thugs wanabe in what they were because I think everythin shud be modrate

Bling bling, just like man with no originality ting...
Bling bling, what ya sport dem fake diamond ring...
Bling bling, what mate you not working...
Where ya suit and tie and dem thing!!!!
Well lets see, tracksuits are for sundays and playing sport in, although i guess some people choose to wear them all day. Thats fair enough if you enjoy the 'i'm not really working' attitude.
Now a suit, doesnt always show you working but gives off the right impression. Even for people that think wearing the diamond look, fat chains and all that jazz give off an impression of being minted, well, believe or not its usually the people less well off that consider it necessary to show off everything at face value, no? If your loaded with cash, your happy in the knowledge you can buy anything so the novelty wears off.
Fat clothes, fat cars, fat jewelly and all those things should come in second place to moving out of your mothers house and paying your own rent.

I love bling but i am young and like bois in tracksuits, hoodies, trainers
Peeps call me the bling kueen. Older men who are headin for there 30's cant carry off the bling look as well. I think they would look beta in a suit or more smart casual with subtle bling (",)
Silva One....
Its time the British urban society stepped in to the light. What is so special about a silver chain some dunks and some phat arm/ecko/akademics tracksuit?
I mean you buy it; you walk down the road, and see some other person wearing it. I don't know bout the rest of you but it is annoying. Today I could easily walk down the road and come across an army of the same dunks wearing, track suit sporting, hooded characters considered fresh by the thousands of others out there wearing the same thing (perhaps in a different colour) or planning to buy the same thing.
Is one considered cool if he (or she!) is rocking tha same gear as half the nation? I'll leave yall to answer that one.
Individuality in self image is lost through the portrayal of a 'playa' in most music videos. You got some ice, you got a car, you got the full package - you know the same old stuff which never seems to change (50 cent's P.I.M.P is the epitome of this in some respects), but what this flock of sheep seem to forget whilst following their self confessed fashion gurus, and I stress self confessed, is that it's not what ya show. Its what ya got under all those things - here in rests tha TRUE playa. The ones who got it, but dont flaunt it. I know yall hear me. BIG UP 1 XTRA!!

That bling yankee look of new era caps and over-sized sports gear and chunky jewellery is SOOOOOOOOOO TIIIIIIRED.
Why can't British men find their own style again? They all look like clones. Not to mention the 30 year old men who are still dressing like 15 yr olds....urgh!
Tania
Bling is so tired, i prefer a man to have his own unique style, that usually shows a man has character and isnt just a sheep.
When i see a man in a club with his bottle of champagne etc, i automatically think i bet hes got no job, no car, no prospects! Suits look good but in the right time and place.

OK, lets remember, Ghetto'ness is really a state of mind, how you carry yourself, how you want others to see you and alot of it is all FRONT with no SUBSTANCE.
There many peeps out there blinging hard, chunky chain, ice on the ear (or both), phat ride, hectic garms, latest trainers ..... AND .... there yard is EMPTY, just a chair, bed and may be a TV if they lucky, or they live in their car (always check there boot for a blanket), cant afford to eat, begging a munch or money of peeps they dont even know!
A friend was telling me how a guy she didnt know in the latest street threads, timberland shoes, and ice on his fingers came up to her to ask her if she can spare him a change to get a BK meal. Now how sad is that. All because they trying to live up to a fake lifestyle portrayed by hip hop videos, etc.
Dont they relaise these peeps actually have the money to buy the stuff ... OR .. they RENT out these Hummers, Fast cars, PAY the gyal dem to dance wid dem for the videos.
ANd why wait for some one to say whats in, whats hot, whats not. Its never worked on me .. ive never worn BLING in my life, dont intend to. DOnt need it, i look good enough as it is (when i sort my cainrow and get a edge up .. lol) with enough self confidence to carry my self.
If this suit culture kicks off, wont be bothering me .. ive been wearing suits from day! Got heavy ties and heavy shirts to go with them. Never needed any one to tell me they look good.
With all this stuff being forced on us, I wonder how many people out there are actually individuals .. apart from me?
Check this ...
Roots - What they do (Check the video) .. it explains alot to those that dont know.

People haven't been buying humers and bling "forever". It is just part of the process of ghetto culture becoming wealthy and indulging in whatever obvious and tasteless that puts their newfound wealth on dispaly..., regardless if it encourages poor youth still on the estates that if you don't have the freshest most expensive stuff then you ain't jack (so you better do whatever you have to do to get it kiddies....).
It's difficult to think up a more effective way of keeping the next generation of ghetto youth in their place...focussed on rubbish that means nothing but costs far more than they can afford, aspiring to the superficial and looking for personal value in what they have rather than what they have the potential to be.
Bling or gentleman chic, its the same wolf in a different fleece. ghetto culture doing the mans dirty work for him. Makes sense right....think about it.

Bling is tack - this is class, but will soon be reduced to nothing if it catches on as once it becomes mainstream, cheap imitations will ruin it!
Nix
Definitely hope this takes off!
The promotion of thugs is so wrong. Don't get me wrong, I love a guy in a tracksuit, a t-shirt and fresh sneaks, but if I met a guy dressed in a suit from Gieves and Hawkes, Saville Row, then...
Not sure about the bow ties though - that's a bit too pretty boy!
jermain spencer
i think styles revolve and comes from impressions given off as to cool or stale but for me bling isn't dead !
T...D...
i cant see it really catchin on as trends are set in the streets an this aint a street thing, jus like the grown man jay-z aint really caught on. peace
Cherelle
I dont think that bling is ever gonna be over, people have been wearin hoodies, drivin hummer trucks and buyin bling 4ever and i dont think its gonna be over EVER.........
And as for your question ' how sexy is a man in a suit?'
My answer is not really, i prefer mans in hoodies, baggy jeans and fresh trainers and nothing is goin to change my mind!
