Sweet Meety
Man, this stuff is awesome, it gives others a chance to experience the different aspects of the cultural world. Desi rappers and djs are going to make it to the top one day. And i support them all the way. Be proud to be NDN.

im sorry 2 say, but who actually believes hardkaurs a gangsta!! haha. just cos the girl walks around in hiphop garms & puts up what i can only call a display of immaturity doesnt mean she should be praised for sum issues she may have struggled with growin up! who hasnt? ive noticed that wheneva u talk about her, scandalous's name is brought up & vice versa. in my eyes scandalous has gained a lot more popularity than hardkaur & thats cos she's got the right attitude. we havnt heard enough from scandalous to dismiss her & i feel shes got alot 2 bring to asian music.
Unknow Silence...

Peep this end of the day its all about your heritage and now there is a new generation of bhangra hitting the airwaves and if people want to express themselves as a desi thug then so be it but dont be spitting fake rhymes like all these wannabes make your own style end of the day anybody can rhyme BE DIFFERENT anf if that means you want to portray yourself as a desi thug then so be it
Bad Intentions
The Asian rap game is on the up. Rappers can be quite controversial in their lyrics especially rapping about drugs, guns, and rivalry. This could influence a lot of people in to youth crimes. You have people like 50 Cent and Eminem who use lyrics on issues of cowards and heroes to influence their audiences.
After judging what Mc Crome said, rapping about issues in the community sparks awareness which the Asian community needs. Especially with issues like racism and bullying and especially up north. Many thanks. Big Ups to PHS, Bobby and Nihal.

I feel that we need more asian people in the uk music scene, be it rapping singing or woteva. it's just got to sound good and original, i mean we as uk asians have the best of both worlds, let's educate the world on what it means to be a british asian; through the music. I really feel we can make a valuable contribution, if we talk bout what we know instead of talking bout wot everyone else is taking bout... PEACE

Bwoyy I’m a rapper I’m looking to open the world’s eyes and clear misconceptions about my faith and race and bring music to a whole new generation.
STRAWBERRY MAN
UK hip hop culture is just an imitation of the US hip hop lifestyle. Being a Desi MC, whether you are garage or rap, is to be unique. Most of the current MCs in the limelight are rubbish, their lyrics have no content, they just make their lyrics rhyme, rather than say something. I have been listening to Metz and Trix on the show, and man I am sorry but they don’t have anything good to say.
For me the only Desi rappers keeping it real are Outlandish. As long as Rishi Rich doesn’t come and do any more rubbish remixes, they will be big in 2004. Is the Asian rap scene taking on the worst aspects of US hip hop? It’s nothing new. I don’t think any Asian rapper has gone from being a good grammar school boy to an all out thug, packing heat and riding in daddy’s Lex, while wearing his Averix acting all vex.
Hard Fraud!
I'm a bit confused about Desi Thugs and their gangster lifestyle. Isn't this statement a bit unreal? I know Hard Kaur and there's no way she's from a 'gangster' background. Hang out in the Bronx first and then compare..

big up my gal hardkaur - bin followin her from bak in da day. did u no she got mad skills as a hairdresser too? to be honest i dont really think that the asian scene as it is depicts the true talent that is really out there. asian hip hop is among the best out there but very few true mc's are makin it mainstream. instead u got the vanilla ices of the asian scene making it.
wiv regards to the females reppin it for us, i only got props for hardkaur. i heard of one ms scandalous... nah... not for me. chekd out her tunes n her vid... bit of an anti climax for wot i thought was a wkd shot. mad props to those hu no they got skills...whether u'v made it yet or not.

It’s true I was watching an Asian music channel the other day and wasn’t very impressed by these Asian garage style mcs, I think there’s a lot of ripping off going on, why are the majority of Asian rappers ripping of other scenes do they think were stupid? It’s just makin us Asians look like we aint got any talent fix up and be original or forget it!

Hi 2 all the other rappers keeping it real in your areas. hold it up.
Well i'm another talented rapper and i have been told how talented i am but it's about all the hate thats what is gonna bring us all down.
i've been rapping for 7 years and still going expect me 2 go all out. About the desi thug thing that's an insult.
Aint it bad enough everyone all ready thinks you act black just because you can rap, and swing the mic?
sun
i agree wit what ishy gots to say. no offence to the uk brahs out thur. but they seriusly rap about notin. like dat movn ma hands like a wiper thing. cmon now. hip hop is about representin, tellin it how it is and keepin it foreal. its about sayin wus on ur mind. i aint dissin the MC's in uk or nethin but thas not exactly hip hop rap.and u dont gotta be a thug to rap. u can do it just for da love of it.
belv
just like to say that getting into the mainstream for all this asian tunes is bang on brothers and sisters. much respect to all out there who making all possible. peace to hit squad, bobby and nihal, adil and all else spreading our desi love. CHAK DEH PHATTEY.

Apna people can be MC, tho they have got to understand that just round the corner tere is somebody else in the same place as them, and they may chat sum deep stuff compared 2 what u can say.
MC CHROME
i’m an asian rapper from scotland and i rap about issues that affect my city of glasgow as a whole, be it rasicm, football rivalries, drugs, alcohol, teenage struggles, relationships, territorial gang battles, which affect the whole community be it black white or brown so i appeal to everyone. appealing to young asians with detailed poetic rhymes which sound good is the basis which i work round. young asian rappers don't need desi bhangra beats to break through. i think what we asian rappers need is an audience to appeal to the right opportunities to come up and keep it real by staying true to yourself.
Kat Eyez
I’m an asian emcee from toronto and for the majority yeah i think south asian rappers could rap about anything... i personally rap about things i can relate to for example you won’t hear me spitting stuff about selling drugs and shooting people if i never actually shot people or sold drugs... i think this is where the creativity factor comes in. I’m rapping about everything and as long as the listener can feel your words and relate to some of the things you’re saying then you’re keeping it real… www.kateyez.com - now this is serious.

Sunny... no-one is saying that Asian folk should stop rapping, all we are saying is that you got to be good at it! I'd rather listen to someone that has a wicked flow but also chats about things that concern me... nothing about bling-bling & 'resting on nuffin' less dan teenage rims'.
I mean, the other day I was watching Z-TV and this Asian rapper called MC Sniper was rapping some serious rubbish... his main rap was something like MC Sniper, MC Sniper... movin' ma hands like a wind-screen wiper'... now tell me 'WAT IS HE CHATTIN'??? Asian people who want to rap got to rap about something real to the Asian people, don't be fake!
Ishy
At the moment there's two sort of Asian rappers... There's the US style of rapping & there's the UK garage style of just sticking any words that rhyme. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter how flow is, all that matters is what you're sayin....
