1XTRA NEWS: THE REAL TALK OF THE STREETS
Cry rape
Man with head in his hands
Victims of rape get total anonymity but should the accused? Even if they're innocent?
A campaign group has told Newsbeat it's "disappointed and angry" that there won't be laws to keep the identities of rape defendants secret.

The government promised back in May that it would give anonymity to anyone accused of rape in England and Wales - but ministers now say they won't put in place new laws to make this happen.

1Xtra hears from the men who've gone on to be cleared and asks if they deserved more protection.

Ben's accuser ended up in prison for her false allegation, while Jason found out his accuser had cried rape three times before.

**** Warning: Some listeners might find the start of this documentary disturbing. The programme was first broadcast in 2008****
