Chemistry in the Classroom
Teacher and schoolgirl
Ever had a crush on a teacher? Most of us have, but what happens when it goes a bit too far? What happens when teachers and pupils fall for each other?

Many deny it happens but our documentary Chemistry in the Classroom suggests it does, even though it's illegal for teachers to get together with their students if they're under 18.

We hear from Max whose mate hooked up with their English teacher. She got fired, his mates thought he was cool for pulling her.

What about if you're dating your lecturer at university, are they still likely to grade you fairly?

There are calls for all universities to have guidelines about this.

Antonya was at uni when she fell for her lecturer - they've been together for more than three years but it's not been easy and maths teacher Dave reveals his worries about being falsely accused of having an affair with a pupil.
What do you think about pupil-teacher relationships?

How do you feel about student-lecturer relationships at uni - should there be guidelines?

Or maybe you're over 18 and in a successful relationship with a teacher or lecturer tell us about it?

hannah
i think it is wrong for teachers to have relationships with their students. There should be a proffesional relationship. However I think its ok for ex students and teachers to have a relationship

Chris Roach
i think that such things should never happen especially if it involves the childs future. if a student and teacher fall for eachother, then they should keep it under wraps

My lecturers are HOT
well with over 18s (college and uni) i say its the same as with any relationship. if the people can be trusted to make right decisions then go ahead wether its a one off friendly fling or a long term relationship (i love both kinds of relationships...... get in touch :p ) but its all about trust and professionalism and honesty as long as thats truly there then no problem. under 18s have school to deal with and to be honest aren't even emotinally developed enough in most cases... althou i must say i did have a thing for my media teacher... she was kwl... oh memories :)

Boyakasha, Ali G ere now, me tink it is well bad if a lecturer(dats how u spell it aight) and student hook up cause i is tinkin it is as illegal as Botswanan homegrown. but, you should never deny ur child educaion aight. peace

Avian
this should be ruled out even at the university level. the teacher/ lecturer will not be fair when the teacher/ lecturer is involved with the student.
