Thirty years after its release the legendary voice behind "I'm Every Woman" reveals to 1Xtra why she felt embarrassed singing the anthem that's recognised by women around the world.
Chaka Khan tells us about her time with Rufus - the band that launched her career and gave us classic tunes like Ain't Nobody and Tell Me Something Good.

You can also find out what she really thought when she first heard the Chaka rap at the start of I Feel for You.

Angie Stone, Lalah Hathaway, Kelly Rowland and Mary J Blige also reveal what Chaka means to them.
What's your favourite Chaka Khan song? Is she among the best female singers ever? Which current artists do you think have been influenced by her?

Chantelle Nandi
She is without a doubt one of the best vocalists we have ever had, for a start who has that range?! My favourate songs (coz I can't choose just one) is "sweet thing" and (telle me something good". The most obvious influence in my opinion would have to be Mary J Blige but you can also hear the influence in Alicia Keys, Jazmine Sullivan and Syleena Johnson also.
