1XTRA NEWS: THE REAL TALK OF THE STREETS
The Duppy Conqueror
Bob Marley
Listen to the documentary
Jamaica's most famous export would have been 60 on 6 February.
Bob Marley's music has never died and his influence on reggae musicians continues.

Back in the 70s, some Jamaicans felt Bob had sold out with his rock style, hanging out with Mick Jagger and living here in the UK.

American reggae star Shaggy compares himself with Bob, saying you have to dilute the music to go mainstream but your core audience should never ignore you.
What do you think? Can you go mainstream and still expect to be played on the street? Did Bob Marley only manage it after he died or has he ever got that credibility back?

Mr. Marley taught the word love. I message of Love & having hopeful heart things will get better. And now Mr. Marley word of trust & justice and 1 love will always stand any test that the non-believers have. From I view . Mr. Marley "Tuff Gong " will always be in class of his own.

BOB MARLEY'S INTENTION THROUGH MUSIC WAS TO CONVEY HIS SPIRITUAL BELIEFS. AS A RASTAFARIAN HIS CORE AUDIENCE WILL ALWAYS KNOW HIM FOR WHAT HE TAUGHT AND HIS CREDIBILITY NEVER COMES IN TO QUESTION.
