He is definitely the man. He has the charisma and you can tell that he is a born leader from the way that he talks and comports himself. His speeches alone are inspiring and he is a breath of fresh air and a change from George W Bush. America needs inspiration right now. When I heard that he had won, I was so happy. To tell the truth, I don't know much about his policies but compared to John McCain, I felt he was the one for the job. He is family orientated which also warms people to him. It's a shame that politics in Britain is so dull. Complaints are made about the decreasing percentage in voting but when you see David Cameron and Gordon Brown, it's just not that interesting!Good luck to America. I agree it's great that Obama is president but i have to point out that he's not black!! He is mixed and that should be acknowledged. How can he possibly be black if he came out of a white woman?! Basic science people, come on. No-one should feel like that undermines the struggle of the civil rights leaders- some of them were mixed too (Malcolm X and Rosa Parkes for example). Although I do not approve of everything Obama says and represents (for example, I'm absolutely against having new nuclear power plants built) and despite the fact that he is still just a politician (and NOT the Black Jesus that some see in him), I think he can give America and the world a positive impetus. His economic policies "We'll only tax people who make over $250,000" will be the same as Bill Clinton's. Bill Clinton only taxed the "wealthy Americans". However, in order to say that, he changed the definition of "wealthy". He taxed everyone, the working poor included, to pay for his socialist programs.
