Swine Flu: The World Health Organisation (WHO) has in the past few weeks declared a swine flu pandemic. This declaration relates to the potential spread of the disease rather than its severity.
A number of organisations, now including the BBC, have had confirmed cases of swine flu amongst employees.
The key message for everyone, wherever you work, is to help to minimise any spread of the flu by using tissues if you cough or sneeze and to wash your hands regularly.
In line with government guidelines, there are no restrictions on travel to any country or area where there are swine flu cases. However it is important that you are vigilant for any signs of illness in the seven days after you travel. There is no need for you to isolate yourself from other people as long as you remain well.
Remember swine flu is a mild illness and there should be no cause for alarm, but if you do have any particular concerns please contact your GP or NHS Direct on 0845 4647.
Additional information on Swine Flu is available on the MyRisks site on Gateway.
The BBC's '159' Emergency Information Service is designed to keep people who work at the BBC informed during emergency situations across the BBC.
This site will only be updated in the event of a major incident.
